THE Central Committee on Multi-Modal Transport organ­ized its first coordination meet­ing in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, who is also chair­man of the central committee, attended the meeting.

 

The deputy director-gen­eral of the Transport Planning Department, in the capacity of the joint secretary of the central committee, clarified the Multi-Modal Transport Law and Rules, and central committee members, relevant departmental officials under the ministry, presidents, and executive members of the Un­ion of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Myan­mar Transport and Logistics Federation (MTLF) and Myan­mar International Freight For­warders Association (MIFFA) coordinated the discussion.

 

The Central Committee on Multi-Modal Transport was formed to implement the stip­ulations provided in the Mul­ti-Modal Transport Law and Rules under Section 6 of the Multi-Modal Transport Law and to promote the multi-mod­al transport services and logis­tics sector. — MNA/KTZH
