THE Union Minister for Industry, Dr Charlie Than, met officials at the De­partment of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, Mandalay Region, on 9 November 2024.

 

The director-general of the de­partment and the head of Mandalay Region department reported to the Union minister on the industrial businesses and the progress of the industrial zones. Explanations are also given regarding the current status of field inspections carried out to determine the size, types, and classification of industrial zones as per the provisions of the Industrial Zone Law.

 

In his response, the Union min­ister stated that efficient use of boil­ers, and systematic development of industrial operations. He em­phasized criteria for the industrial zones with warehouse system, and environmental impact assessment and infrastructures as per the law.

 

To standardize the quality levels of domestic industrial zones, inspec­tions must be based on Customs oversight, and connectivity with

 

special economic zones and other economic zones.

 

Effective supervision is essential to ensure the systematic development of industrial enterprises, and ongoing learning is encouraged to enhance individual competencies. Tasks must be executed with integrity and profes­sionalism, as directed.

 

In the afternoon, the Union min­ister visited the advanced Donpyan flour mill in the Mandalay Industrial Zone in Pyigyidagun Township, where he coordinated with the business own­er to address the issues presented. He also visited the mill to inspect the pro­duction processes and observe each stage of the operation. — MNA/TMT
