U LWIN OO, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of My­anmar receives Mr Pyotr Ilyichev, Director-General of the Depart­ment of International Organiza­tions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, they dis­cussed strengthening the existing relations between Myanmar and Russia and exploring the poten­tial for cooperation in fields of mu­tual interest. Afterwards, the di­rector-general level consultation between two foreign ministries was held on closer collaboration and potential areas of cooperation at the UN and international fora.

Senior officials of the Min­istry of Foreign Affairs and Mr Iskander Azizov, Russian Ambas­sador to Myanmar from the Em­bassy of the Russian Federation in Yangon, were also present at the meeting and consultation. — MNA
