THE seventh intake of the Peo­ple's Military Service Training Course commenced yesterday at various training centres un­der the respective regional mil­itary commands. Eligible and patriotic citizens selected for the programme had already ar­rived at the training centres to complete the necessary prepa­rations before the opening cer­emony.

 

Opening ceremonies were held at each training centre yes­terday morning, and heads of the centres delivered inaugural speeches. Senior officials, in­cluding the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, state and regional chief ministers, respective com­mand commanders, and other responsible personnel attended the event. Officials met trainees, offering cash awards, present­ing support materials, and en­couraging participants warmly and engagingly.

 

The People's Military Ser­vice Training Course, conduct­ed under the National Defence Service Law, which came into foce on 10 February 2024, aims to instil military knowledge and equip citizens with the ability to contribute to national defence and security responsibilities. The first course commenced on 8 April 2024. Graduates from the previous courses are now active­ly serving in their assigned units and formations, demonstrating unwavering commitment to pro­tecting the nation’s sovereignty and security. — MNA
