UNION Minister for Informa­tion U Maung Maung Ohn met with film producers and entre­preneurs yesterday afternoon at the Film Promotion Division of the Information and Pub­lic Relations Department in Bahan Township, Yangon, to discuss the development of the film industry.

 

First, the Union minister discussed the current condi­tions for film releases and the need for increased production. He emphasized the importance of coordination and coopera­tion among the Myanmar Mo­tion Pictures Organization (MMPO), film producers, and cinema owners to establish a screening system that is con­venient for everyone, while also highlighting the State govern­ment’s efforts to develop the film industry.

 

MMPO Chairman U Kyi Soe Tun, film producers, and officials discussed the chal­lenges in film screening and various aspects of film industry development, with the Union minister facilitating the dis­cussions.

 

Yesterday morning, the Union minister, together with MMPO Chairman U Kyi Soe Tun, met with entrepreneurs who submitted expressions of interest for the “Movie City Project” in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, to discuss pri­oritizing art-based initiatives in the project’s implementation and adhering to established rules and regulations. — MNA/ TH
