Mong Nai, 21 July

The Rural Development Department of Mong Nai Township, in collaboration with the Forest Department, held a 2025 Rainy Season Tree Planting Ceremony this morning along both sides of the Pan U Village watershed area in southern Shan State. The initiative aims to promote environmental conservation, improve the local climate, and encourage community participation in greening efforts.

At the event, U Ar Kar Phyo, head of the Township Officer of the Rural Development Department, addressed the gathering and explained the objectives of the tree planting campaign. Saplings were then distributed to the village administrator to begin the planting process.

Following the remarks, head of the township Department of Rural Development and departmental staff, together with local villagers, planted a total of 150 shade trees—including Mezali, Seinpanpya, Seinpanni, and Padauk—along the watershed area near Pan U Village.— Maung Khaing
