THE winners of the open-theme photography contest jointly participated by pho­tographers of Myanmar, In­donesia and South Africa in the international photography contest marking the 75th an­niversary of Myanmar Photo­graphic Society will be awarded in the first week of September, according to the Myanmar Pho­tographic Society.

 

The contestants partici­pated in four different catego­ries: open-theme photography, open-theme black and white, portraits black and white and colourful competitions between February and March. Nine judges from three countries reviewed the processes, and 43 Myanmar won hundreds of prizes in these four categories.

 

“We, Myanmar, rank top in every global photo community. In accordance with the motto “Let the world recognize us through the art of photogra­phy,” the world notices our beauty and culture. We also won prizes with the photos depicting traditions of ethnic people, natural beauty and cul­tural heritage in international competitions. Such achieve­ment uplifts the dignity of the country and tourism industry,” said U Kyaw Kyaw Win, sec­retary of the Myanmar Photo­graphic Society

 

The winners will be award­ed at the office of the Myanmar Photographic Society in Kyauk­tada township on 3 September, and the prizes will be present­ed by Myanmar, Indonesia and South Africa.

 

There are over 13,000 per­manent and ordinary members in the Myanmar Photograph­ic Society. It organizes the All Myanmar Photos contest every month, once every three months. The 59th All Myanmar Photos contest will be organ­ized this year. The Myanmar Photographic Society will show 20 photos depicting natural beauty, traditional culture and ancient heritage of Myanmar in a photo contest to be held on 1-4 October in Xishuangban­na of China. — Thitsa (MNA)/ KTZH
