THE Junior Chamber International (JCI) Myanmar and JCI Aichi Block Japan are collaborating to bring Myanmar coffee to international markets. Under the Omiyage Project, JCI Myanmar is working with JCI Aichi Block Japan to promote Myanmar coffee globally. Coffee beans sourced from Ywangan Township in Shan State will be marketed under the brand name Kizuna Blend.

The initiative aims to support Myanmar’s economic development, generate international revenue, and create more job opportunities for local communities. As the first step, the coffee will be exported to Japan, with plans to eventually expand sales to ASEAN countries, other Asian markets, and worldwide.

A programme introducing the collaborative efforts of JCI Myanmar, JCI Aichi Block Japan, and MAJA to promote Myanmar coffee internationally was held on 26 August at the MAJA Education Centre in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon. During the event, Mr Yamada, project leader from JCI Myanmar, outlined the plans to introduce Myanmar coffee to international markets. This was followed by remarks from Mr Hirano, Chairman of JCI Aichi Block Japan, MAJA Director U Myint Wai, and Chairman U Myo Lwin. Project leader Mr Ozawa then provided a detailed presentation on how the Omiyage Project is facilitating the international promotion of Myanmar coffee.
