THE Myanmar Human Rights Seminar 2025 was hosted by the international non-governmental organizations PEACE (Ingo PEACE) on 26 August at 1 pm at the Crystal Ballroom of the Lotte Hotel in Yangon.

Special guests from various civil society organizations and NGOs in Myanmar, as well as public figures and media personnel, were invited to the seminar, titled “Redefining Human Dignity and Human Rights”.

Myanmar is planning to hold multiparty general elections by the end of this year, and Ingo PEACE stated that it is important to have internationally recognized elections and a democratic system. It also aimed to describe it as a beginning step of change from the current situation in Myanmar.

“I am confident that every one of the participants will become a seed of the future for a new civilization. The future is something we have to build together. May the rights of all human beings be bridges to the world we choose to create together,” said Japan Chairman Hiroyuki Nakazawa in his opening speech.

It was held with 10 agenda items, and those who delivered speeches included Kaung Thet Htoo Zaw, Japanese Chairman Mr Hiroyuki Nakazawa, Chairman of the Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization U Wunna, Christopher Peter Robert Atkins, Mr Khual Lian Kam, and Dr Peter Ngun Za Cung. — Htun Htun/ZN
