ACTING President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in China on his working visit, held a meeting with President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Mr Thongloun Sisoulith at Renaissance Tianjin Lake Hotel in Tianjin at noon Chinese standard time yesterday.
The Lao President cordially greeted the Acting President and Chairman of SSPC of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and held a meeting.
They exchanged views on peace and stability in the border region between the two countries, further promotion of friendship and cooperation between governments of both countries, further enhancement of tourism and trade sectors, cooperation between two armed forces, support of Laos for Myanmar to successfully hold the election, plans of sending election observation teams to Myanmar, and promotion of cooperation in all sectors.
Also present at the meeting were the Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, commission members, Union ministers, the Ambassador of Myanmar to China and senior Tatmadaw officers. The Lao President was accompanied by officials of the government of Laos. — MNA/TTA
