ACTING President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in China on his working visit, held a meeting with Pres­ident of the Lao People’s Dem­ocratic Republic Mr Thongloun Sisoulith at Renaissance Tianjin Lake Hotel in Tianjin at noon Chinese standard time yester­day.

 

The Lao President cordially greeted the Acting President and Chairman of SSPC of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and held a meeting.

 

They exchanged views on peace and stability in the border region between the two coun­tries, further promotion of friend­ship and cooperation between governments of both countries, further enhancement of tourism and trade sectors, cooperation between two armed forces, sup­port of Laos for Myanmar to suc­cessfully hold the election, plans of sending election observation teams to Myanmar, and promo­tion of cooperation in all sectors.

 

Also present at the meet­ing were the Commission Sec­retary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, commission members, Union ministers, the Ambassador of Myanmar to Chi­na and senior Tatmadaw officers. The Lao President was accom­panied by officials of the govern­ment of Laos. — MNA/TTA
