The Township Social Welfare Department distributed social pensions to elderly citizens aged 85 and above for the 2025–2026 fiscal year at the Myanma Economic Bank in Thayet Chaung Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region, at 10:00 am today.

For elderly recipients unable to attend in person, authorized family members collected the payments on their behalf.

During the event, Daw Moe Moe Aye, an official from the Department of Social Welfare, briefed the representatives on the required procedures for collecting the pensions. Following the explanation, Daw San San Thet, Manager of the Township Myanma Economic Bank, along with bank staff, facilitated the disbursement of the funds.

A total of 86 eligible senior citizens received their pensions in accordance with official guidelines. Each beneficiary was provided with a total of 60,000 kyats for six months, calculated at 10,000 kyats per month.— Pyay Phyo Paing (IPRD)
