Officials from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development inspected the ongoing construction of a water tank capable of storing 2400 gallons and related infrastructure in Gyokone Village, Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region this morning. The project aims to provide residents with reliable access to clean drinking water.
The inspection team included U Thant Zin Myo, Deputy Director of the Bago Region Rural Development Department, U Set Naing Htun, Staff Officer from the Nyaunglebin District Department, Daw Poe Ei Phyu Ko, Head of the Kyauktaga Township DRD, and other departmental officials. Members of the Village Water Supply Committee also joined the inspection.
The officials reviewed the progress of the steel-structured tank and engaged with local villagers, emphasizing the importance of completing the project on schedule. They also addressed community needs based on feedback from the village.
Construction began in the first week of August under the close supervision of engineering staff from the department, with technical support and funding from the Union Fund allocated for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. As of now, approximately 97% of the work has been completed.— Karam (DRD)
