UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and his team, cur­rently in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, visited Qujing City, Malong Dis­trict, Jiangyi District, and Qilin District yesterday morning.

 

First, they arrived at the Hongyuan Transportation Company in the Malong area, where officials provided an over­view of the company’s operations. These include purchasing, leasing, and provid­ing insurance for large battery-powered trucks; offering end-of-life vehicle recall services; collaborating with technology companies to implement digital trans­portation; monitoring and controlling operations from a control centre; and providing short-term charging and bat­tery replacement services for trucks.

 

Then, they visited a village in Yunnan Province, where officials provided infor­mation about the village, its operation under the “14335” model, tourism devel­opment, and the villagers’ income-gen­erating activities.

 

They continued by observing the vil­lage library’s operations and manage­ment model, visiting the studio of the world’s longest mural artist, and creating a “Friendship Painting” together.

 

The Union minister also visited a tra­ditional medicine manufacturing factory, the Jiangyi traditional rice cake indus­try—a recognized intangible cultural her­itage—and Shilin Park in Jiangyi District.

 

In the evening, Mr Yang Bin, Mem­ber of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Qujing Municipal Party Committee, hosted a dinner for the Union minister and his delegation at the Guan­fang Hotel in Qujing. — MNA/TH
