BAMBOO scaffolds are being prepared to begin the restoration of the Htupayon Pagoda in Sagaing, which was damaged by the earthquake, according to a statement from the Sitagu International Buddhist Academy (Sagaing).
For the reconstruction of the building for the bronze image in the Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda, the engineer Ko Cho Zaw Min submitted the design to the Sitagu Sayadaw on 3 September, and the Sayadaw gave the necessary instructions.
In addition, on the morning of 27 August, the same engineer and other technicians – U Maw Gyi and U Chine – climbed the Kaunghmudaw Pagoda and inspected the damaged umbrella to be repaired under the guidance of the Sitagu Sayadaw.
After inspecting the damaged parts, the engineer presented a digital record to the Sayadaw, who reportedly gave the details of the parts to be repaired. — Htun Htun/ZN
