UNION Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae received United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Mr Filippo Grandi yesterday morning at the guest hall of the Ministry of Border Affairs.
They exchanged views on efforts being carried out for stability and peace in the border areas of Myanmar, the development of those regions, and the improvement of the socioeconomic life of ethnic people living in border areas. They also discussed the progress of the national reconciliation and domestic peace processes being implemented by the Government, the current status of humanitarian assistance, matters relating to the safe and dignified return of displaced persons to their places of origin in Rakhine State of their own accord when stability and peace are achieved, as well as possible future cooperation with the UNHCR. — MNA/KZL
