A major drug bust in Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region, resulted in the seizure of ecstasy tablets and "Happy Water" valued at approximately Ks 1.63 billion, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team from the Anti-Narcotics Squad intercepted and searched a motorbike near Taungwa Village on the Thazi–Pyawbwe road at 1:30 p.m. on 6 September.
