THE Myanmar-China business matching took place at the Myanmar economic representative office in Nanning of the People’s Republic of China yesterday afternoon, with an address by Prime Minister U Nyo Saw.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that as Myanmar is striving to export new items of products and value-added products to markets at home and abroad, businesspersons from China are invited to do business with technologies and investments. Moreover, since many of the eight priority areas under China’s Global Development Initiative align with Myanmar’s own needs, there are ample opportunities for entrepreneurs to come and invest. Myanmar is striving to foster a favourable business environment for economic enterprises that are investing with confidence. For those already engaged in business and trade in Myanmar, if any difficulties arise in carrying out cooperation activities, they are encouraged to raise them, and the government will coordinate with relevant ministries to provide support. Through this meeting, it is believed that the two countries will be able to build a friendly and long-lasting partnership and carry out even better cooperation in the future.

The businesspeople asked about their preferred businesses to be invested in Myanmar, promotion of export and import in accord with the policies, and wish to participate in development undertakings of Myanmar. The Prime Minister gave a supplementary clarification.

Also, present at the matching were Union Ministers Dr Charlie Than, U Chit Swe and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Myanmar Ambassador to PRC U Tin Maung Swe, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia, the President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and members, Chinese businesspersons wishing to invest in Myanmar and officials.
