THE coffee farming and post-harvest coffee processing course will be conducted on 26-30 January in Pyin Oo Lwin.

 

The course will cover cof­fee processing for developing high-quality coffee, studying ide­al growing and soil conditions for coffee plants, coffee species, selecting species based on land conditions, nursing coffee plants from seed and propagating them from cuttings, control of pests in coffee crops, and sustainable coffee farming practices.

 

Additionally, systematic cof­fee harvesting and crushing cof­fee seeds, dried natural process, fully washed process, honey pro­cess, wet coffee fermentation, waterless coffee fermentation, anaerobic fermentation, natural fermentation, yeast coffee fer­mentation, storing coffee seeds at the right temperature and hu­midity, know-hows of speciality coffee production and maintain­ing quality.

 

Trainers are Daw Mee Mee Myint (retired Deputy Direc­tor) from the Coffee Research and Technology Dissemination Centre in PyinOoLwin, U Maung Maung Min Zin, Q Arabica Grad­er - CQI (Coffee Quality Insti­tute), Q Processing Professional - CQI (Coffee Quality Institute), Rio Grande Coffee Roasters & Flavour Specialty Coffee Shop (Founder) and Daw Nge Nge Khin, SCA Brewing, Barista, Sensory, Green Coffee Profes­sion, and Q Grader.
