Residents from nearby eight villages use the bridge, the second of four bridges spanning two village-tracts on a daily basis. The bridge has been repaired by ex-captain Thaung Myint and his family from Kyaukphyugon Village since 21 April as it was badly damaged by weather. The bridge is of wooden type and measures 14 ft. in length and 14 ft. in width. The bridge is expected to be opened to public by the end of May.

Total cost in undertaking repairs and maintenance works from the bridge amounted to over Ks. 20 million, the donor said. Upon completion of the bridge, local people will be able to use the new bridge in all seasons with greater ease.—Thein Myint Kyaw (Meiktila)
