Ngathainggyoung, 14 May
A rural bridge measuring 45 ft. in length and 12 ft. in width is under construction in Myetto Village-tract, Ngathainggyoung Township in Ayeyawady Region.
Construction of the bridge over the Kyein Creek started in April this year and is expected to be opened to public soon. Local people hope that the bridge will be open to traffic as schedule. The bridge connects some villages from three village-tracts and will be an important link to access to the Pathein-Monywa Road and Yekyi Township. Upon completion of the bridge, residents from the project area will be able to transport locally-made products to other regions in an easy manner.
The bridge is being built with Ks. 5 million from the parliamentary budget and Ks. 7 million contributed by local people. After construction of the bridge is finished, local people will be able to use the new bridge in all seasons with greater ease.—Soe Min Oo (IPRD)
