The closing ceremony of a basic training course on carpentry and masonry took place at the meeting room of the Department of Rural Devel-opment in Kanma Township, Magway Region this morning.

A ceremony to launch a rural electrification facility was held in Wetboe Village, YeU Township in Sagaing Region on 22 December.

A total of over 3000 counterfeit notes of K 10000 were seized in a van at the traffic light between old Yangon-Mandalay road and Yadanarbon University road in Pyigyitagun township in the city of Mandalay yesterday morning. 

MYANMAR welcomed   over   3.52   million   tourists during the  period  from  January  to  October this year, according to the figures from the Min-istry of Labour, Immigration and Population. Internation-al  travelers  who  toured  the  “Golden  Land”  in  the  first  ten months this year totaled more than 3.52 million, mak-ng  a  24  per  cent  increase  when  compared  with  the  same  period  last  year,  the  ministry said. Nearly 380,000 tourists visited the Southeast Asian  country  in  October  alone.
