Earthquake drill demonstrated in Kangyidaunt Township

The Fire Services Department organized a natural disaster preparedness drill in conjunction with a knowledge sharing event at the basic education high school (Daka) in Kangyidaung Township, Ayeyawady Region on 14 September.

Inwa or Ava, an ancient imperial capital from the 14thto the 19th century, dates back more than 400 years. According to historical records, 31 Myanmar kings ruled Inwa in succession. The ancient capital was, unfortunately, destroyed by a series of major earthquakes in March, 1839.
River catfish, Viet Nam butter fish to be bred in Myanmar
RIVER catfish and Viet Nam but-ter fish will now be bred as local species in Myanmar, according to U Hla Htay, the deputy head of the Yangon Region Fisheries Department.  Meanwhile,  basa  fish, bred in hatching camps, will be phased out, he added.
Fingerlings released in dams in Banmauk
FINGERLINGS  were  released  on  13  September  into  the  Nar  Yakar  and  Hae  Htan  dams  in  Banmauk  Township,  Katha  dis-trict,  Sagaing  region,  in  a  move  aimed at enriching the country’s fisheries resources.
Myanmar rubber exports surpass target for current fiscal; touch $250 mln
MYANMAR exported over 190,000 tons of rubber, worth around US$250 million, to its trade partners in the past 11 months,  surpassing  the  targeted  volume  of  170,000  tons  for the current fiscal year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.
