A fire broke out at about 1:35 am today and destroyed the house of U Aung Zaw Win near Mong Nai-Maukme Road in Loi Myae Ward in Mong Nai, Linkhe District, Shan State (south).
Public talks titled “rural development”, organized by the Township Information and Public Relations Department were, held at Dhamayone in Kantku Village, Pandaung Township, Bago Region this morning.
A total of 13 people from two households were evacuated due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in extension ward-1 in the town of Lahae in Naga self-administered area in Sagaing region yesterday morning, according to U Myo Nyi Nyi, chairman of the Township Management Committee.
Torrential downpours caused a rural bridge that connects Pada Ywama and Ywa Thit villages to be deluged with water. The bridge was inundated by water yesterday morning and local residents are using Yangon- Kyaukphyu road for transportation.
A power plant that generates electricity from Yarzagyo Dam which is located in northern part of Kalay Township, Sagaing Region embarked on distribution of electricity to the National Grid starting on 9 July, said an official of the dam.
