300,000 fingerlings added into Myitmakha River, Bago Region

A ceremony of adding fish fingerlings into the Myitmakha River was held on 21 June afternoon, near the Sanyway Village in Thayawady Township. Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, the directors-general, departmental personnel and officials planted 300,000 fingerlings of Cyprinus carpio, silver barb and Rohu into the Myitmakha River.

 

A total of 12.44 million fingerlings were planned to be put in irrigation canals, creeks and rivers of the Bago Region this year and 1.7 million various fingerlings were targeted to be added in Thayawady District.

 

Afterwards, the chief minister viewed the conditions of the experimental fields of sunflower crop and kitchen plants and then gave instructions to plant these crops mainly in alluvial lands and use natural fertilizers. He also coordinated with officials for a firm market.

 

In addition, the chief minister observed the students who were studying in peace at the Basic Education Primary School of Zayatgyi Village in Thayawady Township and instructed responsible personnel to build a temporary classroom and a playground for the needs of the learning environment. — MNA
