Myanmar team finalists selected to compete in ASEAN Women’s Championship

THE Myanmar women’s team has announced the team finalists for the 2022 ASEAN Women’s Championship, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.

 

Daw Thet Thet Win is the interim head coach of the Myanmar women’s team that will compete in the tournament. The 27 final players were announced on 28 June.

 

Team Administrator Daw Myat Myat Oo, Head Coach Daw Thet Thet Win, Assistant Coaches Daw San San Maw, Daw Aye Nanda Hlaing, Daw Nu Nu Khaing Win, and Goal Coach U Yin Min Aung will supervise the team.

 

Goalkeepers May Zin Nwe, Myo Mya Mya Nyein, Zu Latt Nadi, Defenders Khin Than Wai, Chit Chit, Nant Zu Zu Htet, Aye Aye Moe, May Phoo Ko, Khin Myo Win, Moe Ma Ma Soe, Khine Thazin, Zun Yuya Oo, Phyu Phyu Win, Midfielders Khin Malar Tun, Hnin Pwin Aue, Khin Mo Mo Tun, Lin Myint Mo, Wai Phoo Eain, Naw Htet Htet Wai, Yin Lun Eain, Pont Pont Pyae Maung, Win Win, and Khin Moe Wai and Strikers Win Theingi Tun July Kyaw, Myat Noe Khin and San Thaw Thaw will be with the team player list.

 

The Myanmar women’s team started training for the tournament on 6 June, but will not be able to fully take training until 9 June.

 

The tournament is being held more than a month after the Vietnam SEA Games, so teams including Myanmar will have less time to prepare.

 

The Myanmar women’s team is based on the Vietnam SEA Games team and some players from the U-18 women’s team have been selected.

 

The 2022 ASEAN Women’s Championship will be held in the Philippines from 4 to 17 July with team Myanmar placing into Group B together with SEA Games gold medallist Viet Nam, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Laos. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
