The Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank (MADB) has been extending agricultural loans to support monsoon paddy cultivation in Chaungzon Township, Mon State, since 19 May 2025.

As of 16 July, a total of 2,540 farmers from 38 villages have received loans amounting to Ks 2,560.2 million, covering 17,068 acres of cultivated land.

According to Daw Thida Tun, Manager of the Township MADB branch, the loans are issued at a rate of Ks 150,000 per acre, with a maximum of 10 acres per farmer. She emphasized that the loans must be used effectively for agricultural purposes on their respective farms.

In total, Ks 5,166.3 million has been allocated to support paddy cultivation across 34,442 acres in 46 village tracts within the township. The MADB branch continues to work diligently to ensure that farmers receive their loans in a timely manner.— Township IPRD
