The Township Disaster Management Department has provided cash assistance and essential support to residents evacuated from Ywar Thar Aye Village in Yenangyaung Township, Magway Region, due to the threat of riverbank erosion along the Ayeyarwady River.

The relief distribution took place yesterday at the Township General Administration Department office. During the event, Daw Kyi Pyar Soe, Assistant Director of the Township Disaster Management Department, and departmental officials handed over a total of Ks 1,255,000 in relocation assistance, along with food rations, to 51 individuals from 10 affected households in Kyin Kai Kyun Village Tract.

The support aims to ease the burden on families displaced by the worsening erosion and ensure their immediate needs are met as they relocate to safer areas.— Township IPRD
