This rainy season, farmers in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, are cultivating 48,854 acres of oilseed crops, mainly peanuts and sunflowers, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
Peanut planting, which began in May depending on rainfall, includes both early monsoon and winter varieties. So far, 26,134 acres have been sown. The department is supporting farmers with quality seeds, training programs, and field demonstrations to help achieve the targeted acreage.— Hla Win
