Htantabin, 22 July

The University of West Yangon, located in Htantabin Township, Yangon Region, held a collective tree planting event on the morning of July 22.

The event began with a speech by the Rector of the University, Dr. Than Zaw Oo. Afterward, U Naing Lin Tun, Staff Officer of the Township Forest Department, handed over saplings to Rector Dr. Than Zaw Oo, Vice Rectors, and other officials.

Following the handover, Rector Dr. Than Zaw Oo, the Pro-Rectors, the Chairman and members of the Township Administration Body, Forest Department staff, departmental officials, teachers, and students collectively planted a total of 295 trees. These included 175 pyinma, 65 mahogany, 16 Taiwan banda trees, and one tree each of khayee, kantkaw, and meze species.— Zin Min Htaik (Htantabin)
