A house in Arkhe Village, Wang Kaung Ward, Tachilek Township in Shan State (East), caught fire this morning due to an overheated temporary electrical outlet, according to local authorities.
In response, five firefighting vehicles—including four fire engines and one water tanker—were dispatched to the scene, along with 20 firefighters and 20 auxiliary firefighters. The blaze was brought under control and fully extinguished by around 8:15 a.m.
The fire completely destroyed the house, resulting in an estimated loss of over Ks 1.8 million. Fortunately, no human or animal casualties were reported.
Tachilek City Police Station has filed a case against the homeowner, U Lawk Jae, 38, under Section 285 of the Penal Code (Case No. P-160/25) in connection with the incident.— Kyaw Zayar Lin (IPRD)
