THE Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO) has received a donation of K500,000 from the family of actress Hnine Shin Myint Mo to support the Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year, according to MMPO Vice-Chair U Aye Kyu Lay. The donation was made on 5 August at the organization’s headquarters.
“This programme is part of a long-standing tradition,” said U Aye Kyu Lay. “As in previous years, this year we will also honour the children of those in the film industry who have successfully passed the university entrance examinations. For this ceremony, the family of actress Hnine Shin Myint Mo donated K500,000 in support.”
The upcoming ceremony, now in its 20th edition, will present awards to the children of MMPO members who passed the 2024–2025 matriculation exams. During the event, certificates of recognition and monetary prizes will also be awarded.
In addition, on 17 July, the MMPO provided educational stipends, school uniforms, and stationery to 218 children of its members who are currently studying during the 2025–2026 academic year. — ASH/KZL
