Under the supervision of the Hinthada District Fisheries Department, a fish stocking ceremony was held this morning at 7:30 a.m. at Kanna Port in Pakhan Ward, Hinthada Township, Ayeyarwady Region.

The event was attended by U Hlaing Tun, Chairman of the Hinthada District Management and Administration Committee, along with committee members, U Soe Paing, Chief of the Hinthada District Fisheries Department and departmental staff, U Aung Zaw Min, Chairman of the Hinthada Township Management and Administration Committee, and members, as well as heads of district and township-level departments.

Also present were Daw Thet Oo, Chairperson of the District Women’s Affairs and Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, along with committee members, and Daw Khaing Khaing Lwin, Chairperson of the Township Women’s Affairs and Maternal and Child Welfare Association, and members, alongside other departmental officials.

As part of the initiative, a total of 50,000 fingerlings—comprising 20,000 rohu and 30,000 swamp barbs—were released into the natural waters of the Ayeyarwady River. The activity, led by U Hlaing Tun, aims to replenish local fish stocks and support the conservation of aquatic biodiversity.—District IPRD
