A ceremony to mark the donation of US$100,000 in humanitarian aid from the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) Palang Merah Indonesia to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) was held yesterday morning at the MRCS office in Yangon. The event was attended by President Dr Myo Nyunt of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, representatives from the Indonesian Embassy to Myanmar, and other officials.
During the ceremony, Dr Myo Nyunt spoke about the roles and responsibilities of the Myanmar Red Cross Society. Mr Muhammod Arif Hidayatullah, Chargé d’Affaires from the Indonesian Embassy, also delivered remarks and formally presented the donation of $100,000 on behalf of the Indonesian Red Cross Society.
The President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society accepted the donation and exchanged commemorative gifts with the Indonesian representatives.
The contribution was made via the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. — MNA/MKKS
