UNION Minister for Ministry 1 of the President’s Office, U Tin Aung San, and his wife attended the concert and reception marking the 79th Independence Day of India held at Myawady Media Centre in Yangon yesterday.
Indian Ambassador Mr Abhay Thakur and his wife welcomed the Union minister and party.
After the ceremonial procedures, the Indian Ambassador made a greeting speech, and the Union Minister made a congratulatory remark.
Attendees enjoyed the traditional dance of the Indian cultural troupe. The Union minister and his wife, the Yangon Region chief minister and his wife, Indian Ambassador and his wife presented the flower bouquet to the Indian dance troupe.
The Indian ambassador and his wife hosted a dinner for the attendees.
The event was attended by regional ministers and their wives, ambassadors, chargés d’affaires ai from various embassies in Yangon, military attachés, people of the Indian descent and invitees. — MNA/KTZH
