UNION Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe received Mr Iori Kato, Regional Director for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They discussed and ex­changed views on matters re­lating to cooperation between the Department of Labour and IOM for the safety migration by signing an MoU starting from 2015, IOM’s support to Myanmar migrant workers and the IOM’s current work programmes in Myanmar.

After the meeting, the Un­ion minister attended the signing ceremony of an MoU between the Department of Labour and IOM at the meeting hall of the temporary office of the ministry.

Also, present at the meet­ing were Deputy Minister U Win Shein, the permanent secretary, departmental officials and del­egates led by Mr Iori Kato. — MNA/KTZH
