Kyunhla, 13 August

An awareness lecture on the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, organized by the Kyunhla Township Women’s Affairs Federation, was held at 10 a.m. today at Kyunhla Basic Education High School in Kyunhla Township, Kanbalu District, Sagaing Region.

The event began with opening remarks by Major Phyo Thant Zin Tun, a member of the Kyunhla Township Management and Administration Committee. Following this, Dr. Myat Moe San, the Township Medical Officer, and Police Major Myo Myo, the Township Police Chief, gave presentations on the types of drugs, the physical and psychological impacts of drug use, contributing factors to drug abuse, and the relevant laws and penalties. Awareness pamphlets were also distributed.

The session was attended by members of the Township Management and Administration Committee, medical staff, members of the Township Women’s Affairs Committee, the school headmaster, teachers, and students.— Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
