The Myanmar Red Cross Society distributed cash assistance to earthquake victims at the city hall in Shwe Thay Ward, Myittha Township, Kyaukse District, Mandalay Region this morning.
As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the Myanmar Red Cross Society is supporting households affected by the recent earthquake. Beginning on 12 August, Assistant Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Officer U Chan Myay Htun and 10 staff members from the Disaster Management Department have been distributing financial aid to residents in six wards of Myittha Township.
Of the 440 affected households, 230 had received assistance by 12 August, with each household receiving Ks 40,000. The remaining 210 households received their payments on 13 August.
The cash distribution was closely supervised by U Tint Lwin Oo, Chairman of the Township Red Cross Society, along with his members, ward administrators, and village elders.— Win Min Htun (IPRD)
