HRB 500 steel reinforcing bars (steel rebars), which are required for rehabilitation and reconstruction work in earthquake-affected areas, have been transported from Yangon to Mandalay by a special freight train.
The special freight train, carrying a total load of 486.886 tonnes of steel rebars, departed from Mahlwagon Station in Yangon on the morning of 23 September, arrived at Nay Pyi Taw Station in the evening, and then continued its journey, reaching Myohaung Station in Mandalay yesterday morning.
Mandalay Region Minister for Transport U Aung Zaw Oo and responsible officials inspected the consignment. The rebars will be distributed for use in rehabilitation and reconstruction projects within Mandalay Region. — MNA/ MKKS
