WITH the support of the Mandalay Region Government, the opening ceremony for the Hotel Service Training and Myanmar Traditional Martial Arts Course for Hotel Security Capacity Building was held yesterday morning at the Aung San Hotel in Mandalay.
Mandalay Region Minister for Economic Affairs U Thein Htay delivered the opening address. This was followed by explanations of the course details by U Zaw Myo Latt, Director of the Department of Hotels and Tourism, Dr Maung Maung Lay, Chairman of the Regional Myanmar Martial Arts Subcommittee, and the hotel service course instructors.
A total of 132 trainees are taking part in the programme, comprising 99 trainees in the Hotel Service Course, including the Receptionist Course, the Bedroom Maintenance Course, and the Food, Beverage and Catering Course, and 33 trainees in the Myanmar Traditional Martial Arts Course. The Hotel Service Course will run for two weeks, five hours per day, while the Myanmar Traditional Martial Arts Course will be conducted over one month, from 28 October to 28 November.
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism continues to conduct training courses on hotel management and related subjects across various regions in collaboration with private associations involved in the hotel and tourism sectors. The aim is to systematically promote the tourism industry, develop human resources, create employment opportunities, reduce poverty, and enhance the quality of hotel services.
The ceremony was attended by Mandalay Region Minister for Economic Affairs U Thein Htay, Director of the Department of Hotels and Tourism U Zaw Myo Latt, officials from relevant departments, trainers, teachers and members of the Regional Myanmar Martial Arts Subcommittee, representatives from hotel and tourism associations, trainees, and invitees. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/MKKS
