A ceremony to mark world elephant day was held at the administrator’s office of Environment and Conservation Department in Hugong valley wildlife sanctuary in Tanai Township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state this morning.
Taninthayi Region Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Myint San together with Township Administrator U Kan Htoo and departmental staff met with local people in Kyaukwutpyin Village, Launglon Township on 11 August.
Local policemen led by the Head of district police force Police Lt-Col Kyaw Myo Myint met flood victims in Taninthayi Township and presented relief items to them on 11 August.
Seven people who were trapped on a mountain called “Shin Maw Pagoda” in Launglon Township, Taninthayi Region have been rescued on 11 August, authorities said.
