A nunnery building, “Visakha Ponami Gonwei,” and a four-storey philanthropic building in Nay Pyi Taw Lewe Township was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of First Lady Daw Cho Cho.

The nunnery building was formally opened by Daw Khin Thet Htay, wife of Vice President U Myint Swe, Dr. Shwe Hlwan, wife of Vice President U Henry Van Thio, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye, Patron of the Visakha Foundation Prof. Dr. Win Min Thit, Chairperson of the Association for Reducing and Protection Orphans, and officials.
Afterwards, the signboard of the building was unveiled by First Lady Daw Cho Cho and Daw Suu Suu Lwin, wife of President (Retd) U Htin Kyaw.

At the new building, Patron of the Visakha Foundation Prof. Dr. Win Min Thit explained the purpose of the donation of the building.

Afterwards, the ceremony was followed and Daw Su Su Lwin, wife of President (Retd) U Htin Kyaw expressed delight for the donation and Prof. Dr. Win Min Thit handed over the documents related to the building to the Head of the nunnery Nun Daw Zeya Theingi.

The “Visakha Ponami Gonwei,” building and the philanthropic building were constructed at the cost of over K550 million by the Visakha Foundation.

Sitagu Sayadaw Ashin Nannisara delivered a sermon in Lewe at 7 pm yesterday to mark the inauguration of the building.— MNA
