Myanmar U-22 men’s football squad comprising 28 tentative players has been camped in Yangon since 4 March for Qualifiers for the AFC U 23 Championship 2020.
The team will play a warm-up match against Albirex Niigata FC from Singapore on 9 March. The squad will also play some friendly matches against MNL clubs ahead of the AFC U 23 qualifiers. Seven news players such as Aung Kaung Mahn, Kaung Htet Soe, Sa Pyae Aung Ko and Htoo Khant Lin were added to Myanmar U-22 men’s tentative lineup which consists of 21 footballers from the team that took part in the AFF U22 Championship hosted by Cambodia.
Myanmar will be hosting the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship on home soil. Myanmar will clash with Japan, Timor-Leste and Macau in a round robin format in the Group-I of the AFC U 23 qualifiers. The group winner will qualify directly for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship to be held in Thailand.—Nyi Myat Thawdar
