            Ngape Township Department of Agriculture is estimated to cultivate over 10,000 acres of monsoon paddy in Ngape Township, Minbu District, Magway Region this year.

            Various types of paddies including 403 acres of Manaw Thukha, 439 acres of Sin Thukha, two acres of Aung Naing Toe, 249 acres of Ayar Min, four acres of Kaukhnyin and 455 acres of Taung Yar have been planted while summer paddy fields are being harvested. It is planned to meet the target of monsoon paddy cultivation. The paddy cultivation in 2024 exceeded its target and a total of 84.51 baskets per acre have been harvested.

            Since Mann Creek Dam supplies water to 3206 acres of monsoon paddy, Yinshae Dam to 542 acres, small dams and lakes to 4751 acres, it is estimated to cultivate a total of 10,200 acres of monsoon paddy. Officials from the relevant departments shared guidelines for selecting high-yielding paddy seeds, necessary agricultural practices and inputs and precautionary measures for pests.
