Myaung Mya, 15 August

Since 2 June, basic food items have been sold at reduced prices in Myaung Mya town, Myaung Mya District, Ayeyarwady Region. The sales continue today at 7:00 a.m. at the corner of Aung San Road and 7th Road.

The Myaung Mya District Commodity Price Stabilization Committee has organized five sales teams to offer essential food items—including rice, cooking oil, eggs, and duck eggs—at more affordable prices. This morning, rice was sold at K2,000 per basket, palm oil at K6,800 per viss, chicken eggs at K350 each, and duck eggs at K430 each.

Today, 15 August, the sales team comprised of officials from the District and Township Planning Department, Rural Development Department, Land Records Department, Cooperative Department, and Revenue Department conducted the sales. The team sold a total of 120 bags of rice, 110 viss of palm oil, 900 chicken eggs, 300 duck eggs.

These efforts aim to ease the cost of living for local residents by making essential goods more accessible.— Aung Phyo
