CHAIRMAN of the State Security and Peace Com­mission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing award­ed US$30,000 to Myanmar national women’s football team which sailed to the final of the AFF MSIG Se­renity Cup 2025 with a 2-1 win over Thai team in the semifinal hosted by Viet­nam.

 

The Senior General said: “I am proud of all the players of Myanmar’s women’s national team for reaching the final without losing a single match. Their unity and determination are truly commendable. I urge the team to give their utmost effort in the final, compete with full strength, and bring honour to the State. Winning the cham­pionship will be a deserved achievement, and the State will also duly recognize and honour it. Therefore, I en­courage the team to focus systematically and prepare well for the final match”.

 

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung conveyed the word of en­couragement of the Senior General to Myanmar team captain Win Theingi Tun, in-charge Daw Nweni Oo and players.

 

As reaching the final match, Myanmar women’s team has bagged US$30,000 and K200 million as cash awards.

 

The final match be­tween Myanmar and Aus­tralia will take place at Lach Tray Stadium at 7:30 pm on 19 August. — Aung Myint (IPRD)/TTA
