THE Myanmar national futsal team will participate in the China Invitational Futsal Tournament, held from 5 to 11 September.

The team is preparing ahead of the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers in September and the XXXIII Southeast Asian Games in December. Participating in this invitational tournament offers valuable preparation before the Asian Cup qualifiers.

Since early August, 24 players have been training under head coach Pattara Pikun. This is the second training camp for the team, following their first trip to Thailand in March.

In the China invitational tournament, eight teams will compete. Group A includes China, Denmark, South Korea, and the UAE, while Group B features Myanmar, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Oman. Group matches will take place from 5 to 8 September, semifinals on 9 September, and finals, third-place, and classification matches on 11 September. Myanmar will face New Zealand on 5 September, Indonesia on 6 September, and Oman on 8 September. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
