Thegon, 4 September

Thegon Township in Bago Region has successfully completed its target of cultivating 82,610 acres of rain-fed paddy for the current rainy season.

Farmers from 63 village tracts across the township have planted various rice varieties, including Inmayebaw, Hmawbi-2, Yadanatoe, Day 90, Vietnam, Thai Hnakaung, and YSR-1. A significant portion of the cultivation was carried out using modern agricultural techniques such as seeders, drum seeders, and hand-held self-propelled rice planters.

To ensure optimal yields, officials from the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Township Agriculture Department have been actively conducting field inspections. They are providing ongoing support and technical guidance to farmers on cultivation methods, effective planting techniques, and pest management.— Township IPRD
