A Public-Private Dialogue on ensuring fair paddy price for farmers during harvest and boosting exports was held on 10 September 2025 at Meeting Hall 1 of the Ayeyawady Region Government Office, with the presence of officials of the departments concerned and the Myanmar Rice Federation president, rice millers and rice companies.
The Ayeyawady Region chief minister coordinated matters in ensuring fair paddy price for farmers during harvest, bolstering exports, accelerating efforts to provide cultivation inputs such as fertilizer and agricultural loans, installation of Solar 14 Mega Watt at eight rice mills, construction of ten rice mills using milling equipment with advanced technology in the 2025-2026 financial year, and implementation of rice export zones in the region.
The dialogue highlighted rice mills and companies purchasing monsoon paddy without interruption and delay, increasing purchase volume during harvest to help farmers, collaboration between the regional government and MRF to export the premium Pawsan rice and prioritizing Aemahta rice varieties in purchasing. — NN/KK
