Gyobingauk, 15 September

In Gyobingauk Township, Thayawady District, Bago Region, the Aung Naing Toe rice variety was harvested on the morning of 15 September from a 5-acre paddy field owned by U Khin Zaw, a farmer from Taman Si Village.

The Aung Naing Toe rice variety, purchased and cultivated with the assistance of the Township Agriculture Department, was grown using a combination of natural and urea fertilizers. The yield reached approximately 136 baskets per acre—an increase compared to the yield of Thai rice varieties grown last year.

According to U Khin Zaw, this year’s improved yield is due to following the planting guidelines provided by the Township Agriculture Department.

The harvesting event was attended by U Aung Kyaw Zeya, Chairman of the Township Management and Administration Committee, members of the Township Agriculture and Livestock Supervision Committee, departmental officials, and local farmers.—Zeya Htun (IPRD)
