A trial archery competition for Myanmar athletes training for the XXXIII Southeast Asian Games took place yesterday morning at the Kyaikkasan Archery Ground in Tamway Township, Yangon.

 

The trial event featured practice shooting and knock­out matches. On behalf of the director-general of the Depart­ment of Sports and Physical Education, the deputy direc­tor-general, along with officials from the Myanmar Archery Federation, awarded the win­ners.

 

In the Recurve individual knockout event, Thiha Htet Zaw won first prize, Kaung Khant Maw took second, and Pyae Sone Hnin placed third. In the Compound individual knockout, Zinn Thu Rain Hmu won first prize, Aung Ko Oo came second, and Su Su Hlaing secured third.

 

In the Recurve Mixed Team competition, Thiha Htet Zaw and Pyae Sone Hnin won first prize, while Kaung Khant Maw and Thida Nwe took sec­ond. In the Compound Mixed Team event, Su Su Hlaing and Aung Ko Oo claimed first prize. Officials presented prizes to the winners and posed for a group photo.

 

Myanmar archers will compete in the Recurve indi­vidual, Compound individual, Recurve Mixed Team, and Compound Mixed Team events at the XXXIII Southeast Asian Games. — Arkar Linn/KZL
